The IBRO Pan-European Regional Committee (PERC) was pleased to support the 4th International Congress on Invertebrate Morphology (ICIM4) with funding from the IBRO-PERC Workshops, Conferences and Meetings support program. The Congress took place from 18-23 August 2017 in Moscow, Russia.
It was a great success with over 300 hundred participants, including 96 students who represent the new generation of invertebrate biologists. The Congress was also attended by world-renowned scientists - specialists in the field of comparative neuroanatomy, embryology, paleontology, genomics, proteomics, taxonomy and cell biology of invertebrates.
The President of the International Society for Invertebrate Morphology, Natalia M. Biserova, commented, “Conducting international congresses of this level in Russia is an important contribution to the development of basic science not only within Moscow State University but also within the whole country. It also is important in contributing to the development of scientific contacts with foreign colleagues and the introduction of young Russian scientists to the standards and forefronts of research in a particular scientific field.”
Dr. Biserova also added, “I want to express my sincere gratitude for the financial support of the congress by IBRO. Thanks to this sponsorship, the 4th ICIM had a wide response in social networks, and was reflected in popular scientific websites and Internet resources of professional communities.”
IBRO-PERC thanks Dr. Biserova for her commitment and support of the basic sciences and all the ICIM participants for making the event such an inspiring success.
