    IBRO-ARC Call for Proposals Promoting Diversity & Women in African Neuroscience

    The IBRO Africa Regional Committee (IBRO-ARC) is excited to announce its aim to increase support of diversity and women in the field of Neuroscience throughout Africa.

    IBRO-ARC invites IBRO member societies in Africa, members of the Society for Neurosciences in Africa (SONA) and any interested individual or organization committed to promoting diversity and/or women in African neuroscience, to submit program proposals for consideration.

    The successful proposals will clearly define how they will support and promote diversity and/or women’s participation in African neuroscience through activities or events taking place in Africa between June 15 – December 31, 2016.

    Kindly submit a one-page summary describing the proposed activities, the timeline for the activity, the expected outcome and the associated budget to Dr. Angelina Kakooza, at the following email: 

    Priority will be given to innovative strategies that promote mentoring, networking, and the development of collaborations and partnerships.

    The successful applicants will be required to send a program, a list of participants and a report on the proceedings identifying how diversity and/or women in African neuroscience were supported and promoted. Photos of the event will also be requested for publicity purposes.

    Each awardee will receive up to 1,000 euros. This amount is to be used to cover the event/activity and participation expenses.
