    Aims and Scope of the School:

    This Advanced School will cover major research areas in the study of drugs of abuse.


    This Advanced School on drugs of abuse is broad-based covering neurobiology, neurochemistry, behavior, and cognition.  It will provide the participants with an overview of different research areas and approaches taken to understand the mechanism of action of drugs of abuse and potential therapeutic possibilities to reverse the addiction process, stop craving and prevent relapse. Lectures will cover molecular and cellular aspects as well as animal models used. The school is predominantly lecture based and there will be an opportunity for participants to present and discuss their research interests.

    Who should apply to this School?

    Graduate students and junior faculty interested and carrying out research on drugs of abuse.

    What costs will be covered for selected applicants?

    Travel, accommodation, and meals.
