Aims and Scope of the School:
This advanced neuroscience school aims to provide lectures and training on major techniques and tools that are commonly used in neuroscience research.
This IBRO Advanced School on Techniques in Neuroscience will allow junior researchers, senior PhD students and postdoctoral fellows to gain knowledge and experience in various advanced techniques that are widely applied in neuroscience research. Attendees will receive lectures and practical training on electrophysiology, immunohistochemistry, calcium imaging and stereology from experts in the field, as well as lectures on highly advanced in vivo techniques, such as in vivo optogenetic manipulations and fiber photometry. The school will also include methods for analyzing mouse behavior to train the participants on how to connect changes in the brain with behavioral output. The clinical content of the school will educate trainees on the importance of basic research translation in clinical investigations of neurological disorders.
