Organizer: Prof. Rajat Sandhir (Panjab University, Chandigarh)
Aims and Scope of the School
The school aims to provide an excellent opportunity for budding neuroscientists to gain insight in putative role of mitochondrial dysfunctions in neurodegenerative disorders. The School will provide lectures and laboratory demonstrations on various aspects of mitochondrial function in the brain.
The five day School will consist of lectures and hands-on training on various aspects of mitochondrial function that include methods to isolate mitochondria, assessing mitochondrial function, in gel and in situ assay of mitochondrial complexes, analyzing mitochondrial membrane potential, etc. The school would enable participants to acquire new ideas and to learn new techniques and methods to analyze role of mitochondria in brain which may be beneficial to their future research. A total of twenty five participants will be selected from Asia-Pacific Region.
