IBRO (the International Brain Research Organization) is a union of neuroscience organizations which aims to promote and support neuroscience training, collaborative research and advocacy around the world. More than 80 international, national and regional scientific organizations constitute IBRO's Governing Council which, together with the five IBRO Regional Committees, increases global awareness of neuroscience research and strengthens and extends training, teaching and learning about the brain and nervous system. In addition, IBRO has built partnerships with like-minded organizations and scientific societies to identify priorities and help bridge gaps in knowledge, investment and resources in the field of brain research, from development to aging.
The mission of IBRO is to:
- develop, support, coordinate and promote scientific research in all fields concerning the brain;
- promote international collaboration and interchange of scientific information on brain research throughout the world;
- provide for and assist in education and dissemination of information relating to brain research.
